DCL, as the owner of the former Convention Centre site, now known as Peterborough Central, is committed to working with the development community to deliver exceptional outcomes for Christchurch. The Kilmore Street site is directly across from the newly refurbished, and internationally acclaimed, Christchurch Town Hall and close to other new and emerging central city developments.
We want development of the site to enhance and build upon the private and public sector investment that is making our city attractive to visitors and locals alike. To make that happen, we’re interested in a mixed-use development which creates the opportunity for complementary enterprises to co-locate adjacent to the Christchurch Town Hall.
The development could contain creative industries, tourism, hospitality, residential, hotels and parking structures, with a view to achieving social and economic benefits that will support the regeneration of the central city.
We are seeking to deliver a new standard in an integrated neighbourhood that attracts visitors, residents and businesses into the centre and stimulates further urban renewal nearby.
DCL is currently engaging with potential development partners through a closed tender process for the site.
