Work continues across all DCL projects during the COVID-19 Alert Level 4 period. We have all had to make a few changes to the way we work but, with the help of technology, we are carrying on with the tasks at hand.
We are able to continue our work from home across much of our current work plan – New Brighton and city regeneration and development projects, investment facilitation and commercial advisory services.
We have had to change our approach on some planned projects, or temporarily delay planned activity, but all planning work, investor discussions, commercial negotiations and general operations work can continue. We are also thinking about what happens after COVID-19 restrictions are lifted and how Christchurch prepares for a new economic, development and investment landscape.
New Brighton Regeneration Project
In New Brighton, planning for future housing on the old school site continues and we have incorporated feedback from the recent community survey into current thinking. We have, however, decided to wait to call for expressions of interest from developers and investors until Alert Level 4 has ended – this just makes sense and will mean we get a better outcome when we do go to market.
As you’re probably already aware, the opening of He Puna Taimoana has been delayed in line with the closure of all council public facilities. The Council will let everyone know a new opening date in due course.
DCL staff are available on phone and email as usual or you can contact us on email@example.com
